Why do we summit?
Welcome to Sister Summit! We are a group of friends based in Northern California that were experiencing a sense of loss and disconnection during the pandemic. Dealing with all the stress and anxiety revealed during this incredible chapter drove us outdoors - to exercise, to adventure, and to safely convene. A few masked hiking meet-ups turned into regularly calendared adventures. Hiking, biking, paddling, running - you name it - we found sisterhood, sanity, and safety in going, together.
We started setting goals - longer hikes, higher heights, harder paddles. And then it occurred to us, let’s create a way for women to empower each other by adventuring outdoors together! So that’s what we are doing!
Sister Summit is still taking shape. But we know that we will share our adventures with blogs and pictures, invite you along on scheduled excursions, and create a community for you to share yours too. Look around, follow us, and let us know how you think this could grow.
